Core Module Summary

The core module serves as the foundation for all other modules. It defines the core requirements for KDEs that should be on every event and in every master data element regardless of commodity or industry.

Events

Commission Event

Commission events capture the creation of new traceable products entering the supply chain. These are typically upstream events, such as harvesting produce or catching wild caught fish.

Core Module Commissioning Event

Decommission Event

Decommission events capture the removal of products from the supply chain, typically due to disposal, expiration, or arriving at the final point of sale.

Core Module Decommission Event

Shipping Event

Shipping events capture products leaving a physical location to a destination.

Core Module Shipping Event

Receiving Event

Receiving events capture products arriving at a destination after being shipped from another location.

Core Module Receiving Event

Aggregation Event

Aggregation events capture products being grouped together so that they move through the supply chain together. Aggregation are always reversible. They are typically used for logistical purposes, such as placing cases on a pallet or pallets in a shipping container.

Core Module Aggregation Event

Disaggregation Event

Disaggregation events capture aggregated products, like pallets or shipping containers, being broken down into their components, such as removing pallets from a shipping container or cases from a pallet.

Core Disaggregation Event

Transformation Event

Transformation events capture existing input products being consumed to produce new output products.

Core Module Transformation Event

Master Data

Master data is relatively static information about products, locations, and trading parties that gives additional context to events. Event payloads are kept slim by referring to entities by their identifiers. The additional information about the entity owning an identifier is its master.
