Wild Catch Module Summary

The Wild Catch module covers products that originate from wild capture fisheries, seafood taken from the ocean rather than farmed. It builds on the Seafood module, adding the requirements and event details specific to wild capture.

Event Profiles

The Wild Catch Module introduces the following event profiles, each with their own KDE requirements.

Fishing Event

Fishing events record seafood products being caught on a vessel at sea.

Landing Event

Landing events record seafood products caught at sea that are arriving on land for the first time.

Transshipping Events

Transshipping events represent seafood products moving from one vessel to another at sea or in port before the products have been landed. They follow the same pattern as normal shipping and receiving events, acting as a pair. The shipping event records the products leaving one vessel, and the receiving event records the products arriving at the new vessel.

On-vessel Processing Event

On-vessel processing events record wild caught seafood products being transformed on a vessel, typically before they are initially landed. Typically this includes transformations such as gutting, de-heading, filleting, or freezing.
